Bachelor of Science in Nursing Admission Information

If you’re ready to apply to become a student with the School of Nursing at Bryan College of Health Sciences in Lincoln or Hastings, Nebraska, we ask that you review the following academic and technical competencies to ensure you meet the admission requirements.

Admission Requirements

Applications are reviewed based on the following materials:

  • Cumulative High School GPA of a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, from an accredited high school or GED for those out of high school two years or less
  • Cumulative GPA of a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale for high school Math/Science for those out of high school two years or less
  • ACT composite score is not required. We may ask you to submit it for math placement after acceptance.
  • Cumulative College GPA and College Math/Science GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, if applicable
  • Applicants for whom English is a learned language must take the TOEFL English proficiency exam and score 550 PBT, or 79 iBT or better. TOEFL scores are valid from two years of the test date. If a student applies prior to the score expiration, the scores will be accepted

  • Exemptions for the English proficiency requirement are granted for non-native speakers who have received a high school diploma or more advanced degree either from an accredited U.S. institution or from an institution outside the U.S. at which English is the official language of instruction

  • International Students should contact the Admissions Office for additional information and forms
  • Select your campus location preference: Lincoln or Hastings

Application Deadlines

The deadlines for Bachelor of Science in Nursing applications are:
  • Fall start:
    October 25: High school seniors early decision only
    January 15: Final deadline
  • Spring start:
    October 25: Final deadline

High School Seniors: Apply early to be considered for priority acceptance interviews in November!

Prior to beginning clinical in semester 3, students must complete: American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR for the Healthcare Provider.

How to Apply

    1. Complete your online application
    2. Transcripts:

      High School: Have your high school or district office mail us your transcripts or send them through Clearinghouse or Parchment as an official high school transcript and grading scale

      College: If you attended a college or university, have your school send your official transcripts. Course descriptions may be requested
    3. The name and phone number of two references who are not relatives (i.e., teachers, employers, counselors, clergy, mentors, advisors). This information can be submitted through the online application
    4. If qualified, you may be offered an in-person or zoom interview once all application materials are received
