Admission Requirements

Each applicant to the EdD with an emphasis in nursing education program will be evaluated for admission based on the following criteria:
  • Masters degree with major in nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution with nursing program accreditation
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in MSN program
  • Current, unencumbered license as a professional registered nurse (RN)
  • Application
  • Official transcripts from all colleges
  • Two professional references; one from applicant’s graduate nursing faculty and one from applicant’s employer/supervisor (nursing or healthcare employer preferred)
  • Applicants for whom English is a learned language must score 550 paper based/213 computer based or better on the TOEFL English proficiency examination (School code: 6058)
  • Meeting with program faculty member or graduate recruiter
  • Sample of academic writing
  • Narrative explanation of: How the applicant’s professional goals are consistent with the program purpose statement and program outcomes and potential research topics of interest (Not to exceed three pages)
