RN to MSN Application Information

If you're a registered nurse with a non-nursing bachelors degree, take your nursing profession to the next level with a master of science in nursing (MSN). To get started, review the information below and apply today.

Admission Requirements

  • A minimum of one year as a practicing registered nurse (RN)
  • Hold a non-nursing bachelors degree
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in RN program
    GPA under 3.0 may be considered for provisional admission
  • Current, unencumbered license as a professional registered nurse in the state where practicum will occur

The application deadline for the RN to MSN program is:
September 30 for January entry

Follow these steps to complete your application:

  • Complete RN to MSN online application
  • Official Transcript(s) from graduating institutions. For graduates of Bryan College of Health Sciences, your signature on the application form provides consent for the registrar at Bryan College of Health Sciences to forward an official copy of your undergraduate transcript to the Graduate Studies Office. Electronic transcripts should be sent to: registrar@bryanhealthcollege.edu
  • Provide two professional references: one from your RN program faculty and one from your supervisor
  • Submit a brief explanation of your professional goals, how the degree will help you attain your goals, and how your goals are compatible with the MSN program philosophy and outcomes (Not to exceed two pages and can be uploaded within the online application)
  • Send in a sample of academic writing. Your sample may be from previous academic courses
  • Provide documentation of a minimum of one year of practice as a registered nurse
  • TOEFL may be required for applicants if English is a learned language
