Launch Your Health Care Career as a CNA

The Nurse Aide (CNA) course trains non-licensed individuals to provide safe, effective and caring services to patients, residents and clients in a variety of health care settings. Class participants learn basic nursing skills such as:

  • Bathing
  • Feeding
  • Toileting
  • Walking and moving a patient

Hybrid course includes:

  • Online lecture
  • In-person labs
  • Attendance is required for both lecture and lab in order to successfully complete the course

Cost:

  • Tuition for the course is $500, which includes student manual and workbook.
  • Full tuition is due at the time of registration.
  • Refund Policy: A $50 non-refundable deposit is included in the $500 course fee. Refunds for remaining balance are available up to two weeks before the course start date. After this period, the full course fee becomes non-refundable.

Fall Sessions

16 Week Courses
August 24-December 18
12:30-3:30 p.m.
Coursework will be done online. Lab will be in person ONE-DAY per week:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday OR Thursday

4 Week Courses
September 8-30 OR September 28-October 23
9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Monday through Thursday

What do I need to complete to take this course:

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Be able to speak and understand the English language
  • Seasonal influenza vaccination per Bryan Health policy or declination form is choosing not to receive the vaccination
  • Picture for student ID
    • Forward facing, from the shoulders up and a solid background
  • Vehicle registration, if applicable
  • Laptop required for online lecture portion of this course

The course is taught by Bryan College of Health Sciences faculty and approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure. With successful completion of this course and the competency examination, you are eligible for placement on the State of Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry. Successful completion also fulfills the nursing assistant requirement for Bryan College of Health Sciences nursing and health professions programs.
