Tuition Exchange Program (TEP) Policies
Definitions:
- Import: Student from an external institution applying for admission to BCHS
- Export: Student from BCHS applying for admission elsewhere; student can be the employee, their spouse or dependent
Export Policies
- Definitions of eligible employees:
- Currently employed at Bryan College of Health Sciences
- Full-time and in good standing as defined by Bryan Medical Center
- Newly hired employees who were using TEP at their previous institution, will be eligible immediately.
- Coverage for family member if employee is deceased or disabled while dependent is a TEP student will continue.
- Upon separation from BCHS for any other reason (i.e., retirement, voluntary separation, or termination for cause) enrolled TEP students will be supported only for the remainder of the semester in which the student is currently enrolled.
- Participating exports must apply/reapply through the TEP portal by March 1st each year to determine eligibility for the following academic year.
- Generally, if students are meeting academic and other requirements, students are renewed for their TEP benefit each year up to 4 years.
- CIC-TEP allows for unlimited exports each year and is therefore not competitive internally. However, colleges do have a limited number of import slots available each year, so early application is highly recommended. It is also a good idea to have alternative colleges in mind for your application in the event you are not awarded for your 1st or 2nd choice school.
- TEP benefits cover tuition only; fees, room, and board are not included.
Import Policies
- Exporting institution will set criteria and determine eligibility.
- Importing students may use TEP benefits for the following programs: all undergraduate degree programs, MSN, and EdD.
- TEP benefit covers tuition only; benefit does not apply to fees, room, and board.
- Importing students must apply/reapply through the TEP portal by April 1st each year to determine eligibility for the following academic year.
- Generally, if students are meeting academic and other requirements, students are renewed for their TEP benefit each year up to 150% of the program length.
- BCHS will accept no more than 3 TEP students for each academic year.
- TEP spots are awarded to renewals first, then on a first come, first served basis for new imports.
