Gifts to Reduce Your College Costs

Your education is an investment — and thanks to the generosity of donors who believe in your future, you don’t have to carry the full cost alone. Unlike student loans, these awards are true gifts, free money that you never have to pay back. Scholarships may be awarded for academic excellence, leadership, involvement or financial need. From funds provided through the Bryan Foundation to support from community partners, these opportunities are designed to make your path to a healthcare career more affordable and achievable.

Bryan Foundation Scholarships

Each year, the Bryan Foundation awards more than 250 scholarships to students who show qualities like academic excellence, leadership and financial need.

  • Application Dates: March 1–15
  • Amounts: $1,000 and up
  • How to Apply: Current students apply online through Scholarship Manager. Incoming freshmen have a separate process through their Admission Portal.
  • Note: Not all eligible students will receive a scholarship.

Bryan Health Workforce Incentives

Bryan Blue Scholars

Dependents of full-time and part-time Bryan employees can receive scholarships for any Bryan College of Health Sciences undergraduate program. No application is required to receive this scholarship. Students can indicate dependent status when they apply to BCHS.

  • Full-Time Employees: $7,500 per year for four years
  • Part-Time (0.5-0.9 FTE) Employees: $3,750 per year for four years
  • Requirements: Employee must have worked at Bryan for at least 3 years and remain employed. Student must maintain full-time enrollment and satisfactory progress.

Grow Your Own

For juniors in nursing or cardiovascular sonography:

  • Offers a forgivable loan during senior year in exchange for a 1-year work commitment at Bryan Health after graduation.

Accelerated Nursing Scholarship

Accelerated BSN students may qualify for full tuition in exchange for a 3-year work commitment at Bryan Health hospitals in Lincoln, Grand Island, Crete or Kearney.

This opportunity does not include positions within Bryan Health clinics or the Bryan Physician Network and does not cover costs for books or enrollment deposits.

Partnership Scholarships

Hospitals across Nebraska offer scholarships for students willing to work at their facility after graduation.

  • Amounts range from $1,000–$4,000 per semester
  • Most require a GPA of 2.75 or higher and a 3-year work commitment
  • Some require interviews or essays

  • $2,000 renewable scholarship per semester

Learn to Dream Scholarship

Through a partnership with Southeast Community College, students can take up to 30 hours of transferable non-math and science courses at SCC for free while enrolled at BCHS and taking their program's required math and science courses. This can help you save time and money!
