CPR Card Information
Process for obtaining CPR certification for current Bryan students
Students can take BLS/CPR for the Health Care Provider courses at an institution that provides American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS/CPR, the initial BLS/CPR or renewal must be a Health Care Provider Course (examples: Bryan, Southeast Community College, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, place of employment)

Bryan Medical Center is currently allowing students to participate in CPR classes and skills checks. It is important to follow the extension guide below as the Education Department is working to capture employees and some external constituents as well. There are skills checks open in Catalyst, but if you are nearing the New Renewal Due Date and nothing is open, please call or email the Training Center:

First time taking CPR certification course:
You will be required to take the live BLS Healthcare Provider course the first time you take BLS.
NOTE: If you are unable to attend, please call 402-481-5646 or 402-481-5638 24 hours prior to the skills check or a “No Show Fee” will be charged
Renewing your CPR for Active Students:
Renewal courses must be completed online, you will not be allowed to take the live BLS Healthcare Provider Renewal or BLS Healthcare Provider courses to renew your CPR. You must renew your CPR before the end of month listed on your card as the Expiration Date in order to remain current.
- Go to http://www.onlineaha.org
- Use the drop down options under COURSES to select BLS –Basic Life Support
- Click ADD TO CARD on the HeartCode BLS course option
- Pay for and complete the online course (this may take up to two hours to complete)
- Use your Bryan Student e-mail when creating your account
- Print out the certificate of completion
- Schedule an appointment to complete the BLS Skills Check

- Search for “BLS Skills Check”
- Register for one of the options provided
- Use your Bryan Student e-mail when creating your account
- Fill out the form in Student Portal > My Documents > Academic Records > CPR Code Request
- Bring the certificate of completion with you to your BLS Skills Check appointment
- You will receive an e-mail from eCards@heart.org to claim your CPR Card. Once you have claimed your card you can either download & e-mail the attachment of your CPR card or you can forward the e-mail from eCards@heart.org to mandy.king@bryanhealth.org. Your updated CPR card should be on file with records and registration the last Monday of the month your card expires.

Any Bryan employees who are also students at the College of Health Sciences
