Institutional Review Board

The Bryan College of Health Science’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a federally registered board composed of members from a variety of scientific disciplines and the community. The IRB is charged with protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects in accordance with the Health and Human Services Regulations for the Protection of Human Subjects (45 Code of Federal Regulation Part 46). All research projects or studies that involve humans as participants require approval by an appropriate IRB prior to initiation of data collection. The Bryan College of Health Science’s IRB reviews and approves all projects or studies conducted within the college and undertaken by faculty, students, or anyone affiliated with the college. All projects or studies involving human subjects are reviewed to ensure full compliance with federal regulations, institutional policies, and the protection of the rights and welfare of human subjects.
